Adventures far far away

IFMGA British Mountain Guide Mike “Twid” Turner delivered a characteristically entertaining talk at the Telegraph Adventure & Travel Show at Excel on Saturday.

Twid gave a packed audience an interesting insight into the climbing adventures to be had in far flung places. Enlivened with Northern humour, his talk covered: ice climbing on arctic Norway’s island of Senja, Big Wall adventures in Morocco and Patagonia and trad climbing in Mali.

Twid has been guiding on skis, rock, ice, big walls and Alpine mountains for over 25 years. For 15 years he worked at Plas y Brenin, the National Mountain Centre, as a senior instructor responsible for rock climbing. He runs the Mountain Guiding Company from his home in Switzerland and specialises in bespoke adventures worldwide. You can download a PDF booklet that will inspire your next climbing adventure here.
